Identifies and Analyzes Learning and Performance Problems
The Case Study analysis above speaks to my ability to identify and analyze learning and performance problems, while considering the perspectives of each stakeholder. In this case study, I analyzed the viewpoints of each stakeholder, and identified their primary concerns. The most pressing issue was to translate an in-person training opportunity to an online delivery method, without losing any time or effectiveness. It was also important to keep costs low, and deliver a training that would be well-received by the audience, and highly effective.
Designs, Plans, Develops Instructional Interventions using Appropriate Strategies and Techniques
This Sample E-Learning intervention depended on my abilities to design, plan, and develop instruction using appropriate strategies and techniques. The need was that young people needed to develop skills around audio recording and editing, so that they could create effective digital stories. I determined the needs of the audience by contacting a number of people in the primary audience and questioning them about their skill level and what they are comfortable and uncomfortable with. From there, I came up with objectives that would solve those gaps in knowledge and skills. I then worked with a number of pros to develop a few learning activities that would help the audience develop these skills while staying engaged and entertained. I utilized the ADDIE model during development, and tried to align my learning activities with a project-based model, so that the users would have something to work towards, and an opportunity to use and refine their skills as they went.
Develops Evaluation Based on Stated Goals and Recognized Standards
In the Evaluation Plan artifact, I developed an evaluation plan for an online learning module, hosted on Lynda.com. The evaluation plan is based on the standards set out by the instruction, as well as the goals of the self-selected audience. The evaluation plan takes into consideration each of the four levels of evaluation as described by Kirkpatrick. This plan could be implemented as is to gather information on the effectiveness of the online learning module at each of the four levels. It details the needs, the content to be gathered, and the best practices for gathering that data at each level.
