Syndicate Your Own Content — For Free

Syndicating your own content is a great way to drum up leads, spread awareness for your brand, and generate backlinks to assist your SEO efforts. Not all self-syndicated content is created equal though.

Ideally, you want to reach out to popular, relevant blogs, who can feature your content to a wide, interested audience. The number of blogs in your niche that are accepting guest posts might be small though. In the interim, between guest posts, you should definitely be syndicating your own content as well. The ideas below are my favorite places to repurpose blogs posts and other content.

Medium

The Holy Grail of self-syndicated content these days is Medium.com. Medium allows you to link back to your original post, or other related content, to create great repositories of links that will help to boost your SEO. You can essentially create pillar pages around your best content, separate from your own site. Medium has a huge readership, especially among the young professional demographic. Use Medium to raise your brand awareness, generate your own backlinks, and drum up leads through your linked content.

Quora

Quora is a forum for asking and answering questions, on a wide range of topics. Searching Quora for questions related to your niche is a great way to find people who are interested in your industry, blog, or product offering. Don’t be spammy when replying to comments and questions though. If you don’t have a valuable piece of input, wait until you find the right question or a better way to offer your help.

Reddit

The Reddit “Snoo”

Reddit, “the front page of the internet,” has web pages (subreddits) devoted to nearly every field you could imagine. By joining these communities, related to your field, you can not only keep up with breaking industry news, you can also offer your own insight in the forms of comments, comment replies, or your own posts. Just make sure that you familiarize yourself with the community guidelines for whichever subreddit you are posting in.

Tumblr

Similar to Medium, Tumblr is a great place to repurpose your content for a different audience. Using tags and categories you can participate in countless conversations across any number of topics. Google won’t penalize you for posting similar content across platforms, so building a following on Tumblr with backlinks to your site will only help with SEO and lead generation.

Linkedin Pulse

LinkedIn is a great place to create, curate, and promote your best content. LinkedIn has a distinctly business-minded audience, and a few different ways to share your content. You’re always invited to share links to your posts on your LinkedIn page, but you can also syndicate your content by writing articles on LinkedIn Pulse. LinkedIn prioritizes Pulse posts because they keep readers on LinkedIn, rather than the linked sites.

Get Started

The best part about these five sites, is that you can get started sharing your content today. Do some keyword research to figure out where to best focus your efforts, and then get sharing!

  1. Cool blog! Is your theme custom made or did you download it from somewhere?
A theme like yours with a few simple tweeks would really make my blog shine.
Please let me know where you got your design. Thanks a lot
